Interview: Olivia Farabaugh Shares The Story Behind “Body Will Break”

The release of “Body Will Break” reveals the vulnerable side of singer Olivia Farabaugh. The lyrics that Olivia sings express her emotions. The production and vocals of Olivia’s new release are sure to be influential in years to come.

What’s the inspiration behind your upcoming release? The inspiration for Body will Break has come from the trials I have experienced with my health since 2016. I was searching for answers for years and then finally in November of 2020 I was diagnosed with CIRS, also known as Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome. For so long my mind and body were at war. My body was not able to keep up with what my mind knew I was capable of. I realized that I was spending much of my time resenting my body that was trying so hard for me. I knew that I needed to find peace if I wanted to move forward on this path that God has led me on.

What’s your production process like? What’s it like making the song? The production of this song changed dramatically from start to finish. We started developing one song and came out with a completely different product. The musicians I had involved in this project were incredible and were also determined to help me find the right vibe and sound to this song. We ended up finding inspiration after diving Into Miranda Lambert and The Zac Brown Band’s music.

Who are your biggest influences? Growing up I was greatly influenced by Nora Jones, Jack Johnson, and Miranda Lambert. Today I am still influenced by them but am influenced by Brothers Osborne, Old Dominion, Zac Brown Band, and Lauren Daigle. I just love the vibe in their songs and the messages some of them produce.

What are your upcoming releases and projects? We are currently working on a music video to visually portray the deep meaning of this song. Hopefully, this song can help others in the way this song has helped me. My gears are always turning with new songs as I find inspiration, so you will definitely be hearing more music from me this year.

In 5 years, where do you see your music career? I have so many goals for my music but I always trust that God will lead me on the path that I am supposed to be on. One of my biggest goals is to be a member of The Grand Ole Opry. Whenever I have played shows that I just needed to play to financially get by, I would close my eyes and imagine myself standing in the circle on the Grand Ole Opry stage.
